Thoughts from participants of the study group
Hi Beth,
It's now been two weeks since we finished our course.
I wanted to thank you so much for your time, expertise and insightful thoughts about women and men with
OAPFMs, and for guiding us to find so many ways to improve the way we manage these patients. I thoroughly
enjoyed re-reading the book in a new light, listening to your comments and discussion, as well as the
questions from all the participants.
My practice has changed in many wonderful ways over the last few months and I continue to love the
challenges these patients present, whilst, at times, finding it exhausting as we give so much!
Thank you and I do hope our paths cross soon,
Kind regards,
Janetta
Hi Beth,
Thanks very much for pulling this all together. The text was a great choice, with some outstanding
chapters.
I feel I learned some practical treatment additions, but also learned a lot more about the psychosocial
side of how our patients may be thinking about their PF problems. For example, I have already asked several
women "Are you comfortable saying No to your partner?" which I may not have been able to ask in
the past. And being able to see the concepts regarding fear of success were also helpful.
The chapters about pain were also great, and I will be doing more reading about chronic pain to be able to
offer more education to my chronic pain patients.
You spent a lot of time preparing the outline for each week and did a great job summarizing the
information, along with sending supplemental readings.
Thanks very much,
Nancy
